Memorial Day Parade in Downtown Landsdale
Monday, May 28, 2012, 9am
Location: West Main Street and Cannon Avenue, Lansdale, PA 19446

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 32, The Virgillio Schembri Battavio Post No. 23, and the American Legion William Hare Post No. 206 are proud to host the annual Memorial Day Parade. Be a part of the 2012 Lansdale Memorial Day Parade – decorate your bicycle, scooter, wagon, or tricycle in RED, WHITE, and BLUE! Pre-registration not required. Parade forms at 8:00 AM at W. Main Street & Cannon Avenue. Open to kids of all ages! The parade will begin at 9:00 AM at West Main Street and Cannon Avenue. The parade will conclude with a ceremony at Memorial Park at 10:00 AM.

Hatfield Memorial Day Parade and Wreath Laying Ceremony
Monday, May 28, 2012, 9am
Location: The Veterans Memorial, East Broad and Market Streets, Hatfield, PA 19440

The Hatfield Borough Memorial Day activities start off with a wreath laying ceremony at the Veterans Memorial at 9 AM. The 71st PVI will be doing a salute. Immediately following the ceremony, the parade will step off from the Veterans Memorial and head up Broad Street, make a left on Koffel Road and end up at the Hatfield American Legion Post 933. 71st PVI Military and Civilian members will gather at the Hatfield American Legion at 7:30 AM. We will start to shuttle 71st PVI members down to the Veterans Memorial staging area at 8 AM. Cars will be left at the Legion. Immediately following the parade, there will be a ceremony at the Hatfield American Legion. The Hatfield Post 933 Legionnaires, Local Borough officials and a guest speaker will honor our fallen Veterans and POW/MIA’s. The 71st PVI will conduct a salute. The Hatfield American Legion then opens the doors to the local community for a complimentary luncheon.

Memorial Day Observance at Historic Montgomery Cemetery

Location: Historical Society of Montgomery County, 654 DeKalb Street, Norristown, PA

The Historical Society of Montgomery County will observe Memorial Day at the Historic Montgomery Cemetery, One Hartranft Avenue, West Norriton, on Saturday, May 26. Over 400 veterans are buried at the Cemetery including five Civil War generals. The public is invited to join the Historical Society trustees, staff, and members to honor these veterans with wreath laying, dedications, military re-enactors, and more. The day’s observance will begin at 11 a.m. at the cemetery Gatehouse. Activities are held out of doors and include walking to the gravesites. Light refreshments will be served.
